Montréal, hiver 2002. Stéphane, 19 ans, fan de Métal, étudiant en graphisme rêve de devenir illustrateur. Mais depuis des mois il s'engouffre dans une spirale menaçante : il est accro aux jeux. Endetté, sans appartement, évitant ses amis à qui il doit de l'argent, Stéphane prend un job de plongeur dans un restaurant afin de s'en sortir. Il découvre la vie survoltée d'un restaurant à l'approche des fêtes et sa galerie de personnages.
