Le monde martial est à la recherche du «Deer cutting Sword», un sabre forgé par le mythique Xu Ruzi, sensé donner un immense pouvoir à qui le détiendra et capable de trancher n’importe quel matériau. L’arme tombe finalement entre les mains d’une bande d’hommes à la solde de Lian Chengbi, chef de clan issu d’une très riche et respectable lignée. La satisfaction est de courte durée car un épéiste qui dit s’appeler Xiao s’en empare. Pire que ça, il tente de kidnapper quelques jours plus tard Chen Bijun, la femme de Lian Chengbi. Mais le véritable Xiao veille et la délivre. Les deux adultes tombent bientôt amoureux.
